Free Falling

If you have ever even considered going skydiving, just do it. Don't let anything hold you back because it is one of the best experiences you will ever have! It's exhilarating, falling through the sky, just trusting your pro to do his job while you take in the views. So many people are scared to try it, and I was a little nervous at first, but it is 100% worth it and an experience of a lifetime.

We chose to use Skydive Australia out of Wollongong, near Sydney while we were in Australia. We chose this company because it was one of the ones that offered a 15,000-foot dive, was reasonably priced, and allowed you to jump over the beach. It cost $299 AUD, or $207 USD, and it had amazing reviews. They also offer a photo and video package, which I would definitely recommend purchasing. It cost a little bit extra, but our instructor wore a GoPro on his wrist and filmed the entire jump. They gave me a flash drive with the video and a ton of pictures on it so I could share them with my friends and family.

For people who want to know the process, it's fairly simple! You show up to your scheduled time and go through some simple training and information sessions with the instructors. Then, they fit you for a harness and warm clothing (it was winter in Australia) before loading you into a small plane. The plane takes you up into the sky (we were over the water and were able to see whales and beautiful blue water for miles). Next, one by one, each person scoots out of the plane with his or her instructor and that's that! Our landing was pretty smooth, and everyone had a blast!
